The bond between kids and their pets touches many with its innocence and joy — something Andy Seliverstoff captures with his photography.
Andy especially loves taking pictures of kids with large dogs, such as Great Danes, Newfoundlands and Black Russian Terriers. The results are often heartwarming and visually striking.
He’s recently collected his work in a volume called ‘Little Kids and Their Big Dogs,’ which features these images.
Andy often begins his shoots by focusing on getting to know the dogs, capturing their special personalities and creating a sense of intimacy and familiarity.
“The personality and the character is unique for every individual dog. The human aspects we often recognize in our dogs are, among other things, what makes us feel so close to them,” he writes on his website. “And it is this aspect I try to express in my photography.”
Anyone who felt a special bond with their dog will understand how these images capture the friendships we have with our pets — ones often based on complete acceptance, unconditional love and pure joy.
