A girl on the verge of death rescued a kitten with no hope. Then, the kitten rescues her family.

Before Kylie Myers died from cancer, she had two requests for her parents.

She asked her dad Mark to help find a cure for childhood cancer. Then she asked her mom Robin to care for the rescue kitten, Liza, that gave Kylie comfort in her final days.

It had been a long struggle. Kylie — known to her family as ‘Smiley Kylie’ for her infectious sense of fun and joy — received a diagnosis of bone cancer at age 12. She struggled through treatment, though she kept her spirits up, even asking for a pet kitten.

Despite initial signs of promise, doctors discovered the cancer had spread through her body — and that Kylie wasn’t going to make it.

Kylie again pressed for a kitten, even in her last days. Recognizing the situation, Mark and Robin agreed, and the family got a tiny rescue kitten — named Liza by Kylie — to foster.

The two bonded quickly, as if they both knew they didn’t have a lot of time together. The kitten stayed glued to Kylie’s side for the next two days — until Kylie delivered her final requests to her parents and then passed away.

Kylie’s parents first thought that Liza’s first mission — to comfort Kylie in her final days — was over. But the kitten’s work was only just beginning. Watch their beautiful story…
