Christie Brinkley poses for Sports Illustrated ‘swimsuit issue’ with her daughters… at 63.

80s supermodel Christie Brinkley made history appearing on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s ‘Swimsuit Issue’ three years in a row. Now she’s making it again, returning to the magazine at age 63.

She’ll appear in the 2017 edition of the magazine’s special issue with her two daughters, Alexa Ray Joel and Sailor Brinkley Cooke.

Christie wasn’t originally interested, but the opportunity to pose with her daughters was irresistible. “When I turned 30, I was like, ‘This is the last time I’m posing in a bathing suit!’ When this issue comes out, I’ll be 63,” she told People. “I thought, ‘Those days are over.’ But to get to do it with my girls, I thought, ‘One last go!’”

Christie saw it as a chance to model confidence and self-love, no matter where you are in life, especially for her daughters. “This is a real full circle moment for me,” Brinkley told SI during the shoot. “I can get very emotional about this. How many years ago, I was that insecure girl hoping that I would be good enough for the magazine. So to see my daughters now having the same thoughts I had, and to be able to see them actually be there on the job, was definitely a big moment.”
