He picked up his own hand after IED explosion, but years later heartfelt surprise has soldiers in tears.

Army specialist Nicholas Williams and Sergeant John Hosey began one day like any other, eating breakfast and heading out after a target.

But while riding in their Hummer, they fell victim to a IED attack. Williams woke up to hear everyone screaming, then checked his body to see if he was injured.

But something was wrong — he realized he was missing his hands. In the horror of the mayhem, he had to pick up his own hand and escape the vehicle, making sure his friends were okay.

Williams and Hosey recounted their ordeal for a news report years later. But it was no ordinary news interview. See below for the surprise the reporters had for the military veterans, and hear more of their incredible story…
