Adam Levine and Gwen Stefani rush to single dad’s side after emotional audition for ‘The Voice’.

Malik Davage has spent most of his life growing up in a dangerous Washington, D.C neighborhood. The 23-year-old single father wants only one thing: a better life for his daughter.

He decided to test his talents at a blind audition for music competition show ‘The Voice,’ where he sang Miguel’s ‘Sure Thing.’

“I’m just a young guy from Washington, D.C., who’s trying to do my best for my daughter,” he told the judges.

Malik’s performance was sharp enough to get judge Adam Levine’s attention, and Adam’s praise brought Malik to tears as other judges rushed up to give him hugs — and brought Malik’s daughter onstage.
