A Navy SEAL explains why you should end a shower with cold water.

The Navy SEALS confront extreme conditions in their everyday work. But the result of such an intense approach is that they can see how small ‘life hacks’ can have big effects, especially if done consistently over time.

Part of their wisdom includes the value in doing small tasks, like making their beds, everyday — and now they’re touting the virtues of blasting yourself with cold water at the end of a shower.

Cold water at the end of a hot shower sounds torturous, though eye opening. But, as former Navy SEAL Clint Emerson explains, it increases recovery by keeping inflammation down.
