She poses in necklace boyfriend made. 1 year later, she finds secret compartment he hid from her.

When Terry and Anna, an Irish couple, wanted to celebrate one year of dating, Terry gave her a handmade wooden necklace. Striking and unique, it featured a small shell on its pendant.

Terry made the necklace himself, carving it from a piece of pine. He also created a secret compartment, in which he hid something very precious and valuable. Anna wore it for a year and a half, never discovering the necklace’s secret.

But then the couple took a trip to Smoo Cave in northern Scotland, which both had dreamed of going to together for some time. As they explored the cave — whose name comes from an old Norse word for ‘hidden’ — Terry opened up the necklace, revealing an engagement ring inside and dropping to his knee to pop the question.

Anna was over the moon, but also had to chide her future husband for the risk he took. “Wait, it’s been in there the entire time?” she told him. “I could have lost it, you f—— idiot!”

Terry captured the entire process on camera. Watch below to see the story of a necklace with a secret — and see how this unique proposal reflects the style of an equally unique couple…
