Alzhiemer’s-ridden mom joined by son for emotional country duet.

Nothing is more heartbreaking for children to go through than to watch their parents struggle with age and illness.

When that illness is Alzheimer’s, that pain is even harder, especially as parents forget their loved ones’ names and faces.

Some things remain. For Kelly Ridings’ 88-year-old mother, it’s her love of music. Despite her Alzheimer’s, she still can play and sing her favorite country songs on guitar.

Kelly captured some of his mom’s performances on video, even dueting with her on a rendition of the classic tune ‘Dreaming of a Little Cabin’.

“I realized while I was singing with her tonight, I had never videoed us singing together, so I captured a couple of songs for posterity,” Riddings wrote on Facebook, where he uploaded the videos. “Most days I miss her, but she always comes back to me when we sing.”
