Transmormon by Torben Bernhard

She grew up Mormon and carried a big secret for most of her life. Then, she tells her dad.

Eri Hayward was born in conservative Utah County, raised in the LDS church and went to a Mormon private school. But something wasn’t adding up. Born a boy, Eri slowly and painfully came to grips with the realization that she is transgender.

Filmmaker Torben Bernhard catches up with 25-year-old Eri and her supportive family just before she undergoes sexual reassignment surgery.
