Former Green Beret runs straight into ISIS gunfire, footage captures dramatic rescue of little Iraqi girl.

Former soldier David Eubanks was in Mosul as an aid worker this June when ISIS snipers attacked, targeting men, women and children.

David watched the battle from behind a tank about 150 yards away. Suddenly he spotted slight movement in an area littered with dead bodies, and realized a young girl was hiding under her dead mother’s hijab.

David made a decision: he was going to rescue the girl.

“I thought, ‘If I die doing this, my wife and kids would understand,’” he said.

The U.S. and Iraqi forces worked together to drop smoke canisters. Two Iraqi soldiers covered him as David, wearing nothing but a helmet and bullet-proof vest, ran out and scooped up the girl, then ran back to safety carrying her in his arms.

The girl’s entire family was killed in the attack, but an Iraqi general with Eubanks that day plans to adopt her. David also managed to rescue a toddler and a wounded man as well that day.

See the dramatic rescue in the video below, and watch just how much one man can make a difference…
