This 4-year-old was scared of monsters in her new house. So a police officer came over to help.

Police officers get called in to address situations ranging from domestic violence to drug busts. No matter what, they’re tasked with maintaining safety in a community.

So when Officer David Bonday got a call from a 4-year-old Sidney Fahrenbruch worried about monsters in her room in Longmont, Colorado, he took the little girl very seriously. Sidney had met the officer at a community event earlier and told him she was worried about the noises she heard when the TV was off and everyone was asleep.

Officer Bonday stopped by and helped the little girl — who was dressed in her own police uniform — search for monsters in closets, under furniture and even outside.

Luckily, no monsters were found. And more importantly, Sidney was truly happy that someone took her fears seriously. She now even wants to become a police officer when she grows up.

“It’s just amazing the confidence he’s given her. We’re truly grateful to live in a town where the police officer will pay a kid any attention,” Sidney’s mom Megan Fahrenbruch told FOX31 Denver.
