Watch Kesha beautifully perform ‘Praying’ for the first time.

Most know Kesha through her infectious party anthems like ‘Tik Tok’. But the past few years have seen her reinvent herself, as she’s dealt with an ugly legal battle against her former producer Dr. Luke that has kept her from releasing music.

“I just didn’t know if I was ever going to be able to put out music ever again,” she told MTV. “I really didn’t know, and some days it felt like I was kind of clinging onto this ghost of an idea that got me through a lot of years.”

“You know, sometimes it felt more real, sometimes it felt less real, and I kept waking up and I’d say, ‘OK, you can’t just lay in bed, you got to get up, you got to go to the studio.’ And even when I really didn’t want to, I would. It’s kind of a testament to like, you got to show up for yourself.”

But Kesha is making a comeback, and laying herself bare in her music. She will release her first record in five years, ‘Rainbow,’ full of empowering songs.

She recently performed her single ‘Praying’ for the first time ever live. Watch the video below to see her emotional, raw performance — you will feel the triumph and power behind lyrics like “I’m proud of who I am”…
