The final song of Glen Campbell’s career reveals the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s.

Country music legend and actor Glen Campbell passed away a few weeks ago after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.

He was initially diagnosed in 2011, and passed away at the age of 81. Despite his fame and privileges, he was still one of the many people with the degenerative disease, which is estimated to affect 1-in-85 people by 2050.

After finding out he had Alzheimer’s, he wrote a song to make sure people would remember who he really was, long after the disease robbed him of memory.
