Former U.S. presidents band together to launch ‘One America’ appeal to help hurricane victims.

Five former U.S. presidents across the political spectrum have come together to launch an initiative to raise money for victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Jimmy Carter wanted to come together to support the people affected by the hurricanes.

Initially the group began with the intent to focus on support Harvey. But as Irma built up strength, the initiative expanded to include people and territories affected by the second hurricane, though the first PSA focuses on Harvey.

With all funds going entirely to hurricane victims, the initiative also shows how Americans of all stripes can come together when the country most needs it. As Bill Clinton said in the PSA, “Hurricane Harvey brought terrible destruction, while also bringing out the best in humanity.”
