Man sends text to Marine who stole his truck to save dozens of lives in Vegas shooting.

Marine veteran Taylor Winston was dancing with his girlfriend when they heard bullets being fired into the audience.

In the chaos, Taylor saw how many people were getting shot and injured. Looking for a way to get them to the hospital — and knowing how critical the situation was — he found a truck with the keys in it.

“First one we tried opening had keys sitting right there,” Taylor told USA Today. “I started looking for people to take to the hospital.”

“Shots were still firing, we had a couple of friends … set up a makeshift hospital on the backside away from the gunfire, and they were pulling people out of the venue,” he continued. “We pulled up to that and they started loading us up with the most critical injured.”

Thinking fast, he filled the truck with as many wounded as he could and drove them to the hospital. He made many trips back and forth, taking the most critically injured and bringing them to a proper hospital.

Later, Taylor got a message from the truck’s owner, looking for the key. “Other than that, it’s all water under the bridge to me,” the owner texted Taylor.

“I took about 30 critically injured to the hospital.” Taylor replied, “Your truck was extremely important saving those people’s lives.”
