Singer makes ‘Voice’ history with haunting cover of country classic ‘Ode to Billie Joe’.

The country classic ‘Ode to Billie Joe’ captures the tragic life and death of a character named Billie Joe Armstrong. Made famous by Bobbie Gentry, it’s ranked as one of the greatest songs of all time by the likes of Rolling Stone for its haunting lyrics and storytelling.

When young singer Megan Rose performed it on ‘The Voice,’ she infused it with elements of soul and blues, impressing the panel of judges.

Megan eventually joined Miley Cyrus’s team on the show, making history on ‘The Voice’ as the first all-female team to compete.
