Foxed by James Stewart

A little girl is kidnapped by foxes and forced to dig in a mine. But nobody notices she's missing.

Filmmaker and multi-disciplinary artist James Stewart offers a dark stop-motion fairy tale about a young girl forced to work by a band of sinister foxes.

Young Emily has to work the mines deep beneath her house, policed by the oppressive band of animals.

But one day she decides to escape… only to find that life back at home isn’t what she expected.

A meditation on what it means to grow up under someone else’s control, the juxtaposition of impeccable, well-crafted stop-motion animation with its dark subject matter — and unexpected twist — creates even more of a sense of foreboding.

Originally created in 3-D, “Foxed!” is a cautionary tale about parenting, full of suspense, thrills and a lesson on seeing our children for who they are — not what we want them to be.
