The Only People Who Have Ever Seen Rob’s Penis by Christian Cerezo

A virgin is trapped in a room of people from his past. Then, a wizard asks what they all have in common.

Rob is a virgin, something he feels awkward about as he begins a relationship with a more experienced partner.

When the couple find themselves magically teleported into a room with a few other people, a mysterious invisible magical entity says they have to figure out what they all have in common before they all can leave.

The answer to this short romantic comedy’s riddle is given away in the title, and the premise is an odd set-up. But director Christian Cerezo finds a striking balance between the ridiculous and the life-affirming, with sharp dialogue and performances that keep it grounded in real emotion.

The result is a fresh, offbeat take on the relationship comedy that still maintains a sense of sweetness — and provides a unique perspective on what it means to be genuinely intimate with someone. Everyone brings issues, insecurities and self-doubt to a relationship, but it’s only when we are brave enough to be real about them that true closeness and trust is built.
